Alfred Gratien Champagne

Champagne: wine of kings, king of wines.

Champagne is a French sparkling wine with a Protected Designation of Origin from the Reims region in the north-east of France.

Mainly blended from three grape varieties namely, Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier and Chardonnay, the Champagnes are made according to the traditional method The initial fermentation in vats is followed by a second fermentation in the bottle during which time the bubbles are formed. Then come a minimum of 15 months of maturation with riddling, after which the lees are separated from the wine via disgorging.

Champagnes are consumed worldwide and regarded as the symbol of French know-how and luxury.
